Barcelona Test: Rosberg fastest on (...)

Testing resumed after the lunch break on a dry track. It was a productive and smooth afternoon for all concerned.

The sole disruption was caused by Mark Webber who stopped at Turn 1 with just two minutes left on the clock.

Williams had another KERS-related problem late in the morning but fixed it during the lunch break. Pastor Maldonado could resume his work at the reopening of the track and set the fourth fastest time.

Team Lotus lost more valuable time with a new water leak – the third in three days. It will be addressed at the factory after this test.

Meanwhile, Red Bull focused on a race simulation this afternoon. Mark Webber completed 68 consecutive laps and changed tyres three times. He set the fifth fastest time of the day.

Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg set the pace throughout the afternoon, highlighting the potential of the MGP W02. Vitaly Petrov was second fastest for Lotus Renault. Lewis Hamilton was third fastest.

Swiss drivers Sébastien Buemi (Toro Rosso) and Giorgio Mondini (HRT) joined the action this afternoon. Mondini made a quite good impression at the wheel of Hispania’s 2010 car.

Testing will conclude tomorrow.
