Vettel considers Rallye Deutschland

Double Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel could visit ADAC Rallye Deutschland, round nine of the FIA World Rally Championship, next week.

The Red Bull driver attended Neste Oil Rally Finland in 2009 as a guest of his employer, spending time with the Red Bull-backed Citroen team, and travelled to several stages to watch the high-speed action unfold.

In an interview on Rallye Deutschland’s official website, Vettel said: “I have been to Rally Finland and it was sensational how fast the cars were on this gravel surface and simply amazing how accurate the drivers are through the woods and jumps. Rallye Deutschland would be something new and very sexy, let’s see if it works this year.”

During his visit to Finland, Vettel said he would like to take part on a rally one day and added that he would seek advice from eight-time world champion and his fellow Red Bull-backed driver Sebastien Loeb.

“I have plenty to do in Formula One but who knows one day?” Vettel said at the time. “The WRC is as far as you can get in rallying, I wouldn’t mind some drives in the future.”

Last December former Volkswagen Motorsport boss Kris Nissen offered Vettel a test in the firm’s new-for-2013 Polo R WRC. “It could be great for our sport if it could be possible because he is a two times Formula One world champion but it won’t be easy,” Nissen said.
