Andrea Barlesi and Fernando Monje completed the four-car lineup of SUNRED Engineering in the 2012 WTCC.

After entering Pepe Oriola and Tiago Monteiro under the banner of Tuenti Racing Team, the Spanish outfit added two more SEAT León cars for Barlesi (20 years old from Belgium) and Monje (19 from Spain).

After spending the previous two years in Sportscar racing, Barlesi looks forward to this Touring Car switch: “It is a great opportunity to compete in one of the most prestigious championships. My goal remains to join a factory team and WTCC is where you need to be, as from 2013, new manufacturers will be competing. I am delighted to be Tiago Monteiro’s team-mate; we worked for the same team last year in the Le Mans 24 Hours and we had built a good relationship. I count on his experience to help me improving as fast as possible,” said Barlesi.

Monje, who comes from the European F3 Open and recently tested a SUNRED León at Valencia, has also entered in the full season, but will join the championship from the second race meeting in Spain. At Monza he will take part in the European Touring Car Cup.
