The stars of the FIA WRC Academy were given the opportunity to learn from the best ahead of ADAC Rallye Deutschland when eight-time winner and multiple world champion Sebastien Loeb gave them some essential tips about the all-asphalt event.

Loeb has only failed to win the Trier-based round once in nine attempts and took time out of his busy schedule to address the world rally champions of the future at the Citroen service area in the event’s permanent service park yesterday evening.

Alastair Fisher, who is one of the favourites for WRC Academy glory in Germany this week, said the opportunity to meet Loeb had been an invaluable experience.

“He’s such a cool customer,” said British driver Fisher, the winner of the opening WRC Academy event of the season in Portugal. “It was my first proper time meeting him and he was so at ease with everyone and he’s so down to earth. He told us how important it is to get into a good rhythm on this rally, be smooth on your tyres and not to be too heavy on the brakes.”

The opportunity to meet Loeb was one of several events arranged by WRC Academy organiser M-Sport for the competitors following expert tuition a the Lommel proving ground in Belgium earlier this month.
