Meeke pays tribute to Peugeot

Kris Meeke has paid tribute to the Peugeot UK team for what he labelled an ‘unforgettable’ two years with aboard the firm’s 207 S2000.

Meeke left Peugeot after last week’s Rally of Scotland, where he clinched third in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge standings with third place on the Perth-based penultimate round of the IRC.

Meeke said: “In a way, it would have been nice to finish third last year and win the title this time. It has been a fantastic time for me, just fantastic. I’ll always be so grateful to Peugeot UK for what the opportunity they gave to me. Okay, this year hasn’t gone quite to plan, but last year exceeded our expectations. We really achieved a lot together and I’ll never forget that.”

Meeke won last year’s IRC title and won one more IRC round this year in Brazil.
