Nobre aims for revenge in Argentina

Paulo Nobre has vowed to make up for the disappointment of retiring on the opening stage of Rally Internacional de Curitiba by entering Rally Argentina later this month.

The Brazilian’s Mitsubishi Lancer lasted for 16 kilometres of the first Campo Magro stage before the car’s rear differential broke.

It is now undergoing repairs at his team’s base in the south of Brazil before it is transported to Villa Carlos Paz in Argentina, venue of the third round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge from 19-21 March.

However, Sao Paulo-based Nobre is expecting a tough battle with the local Argentine drivers when he contests the gravel event for a third time.

“They have a lot of strong drivers in Argentina and have access to better equipment,” said Nobre. “If I can get into the points then, believe me, I will be happy. Not only are the drivers tough but so is the terrain. It is a bit like a cross-country rally so I will probably feel sorry for my car afterwards.”
