Top-five IRC finish makes Arzeno proud

Mathieu Arzeno said he was proud to finish fourth overall on the Donnelly Group Circuit of Ireland Rally last week.

Arzeno, from France, had never competed on the Armagh-based event before but shrugged off his lack of experience of the rain-hit stages and his latest specification Peugeot 207 Super 2000 to finish as the leading Saintéloc Racing - Mister Auto representative following one and a half days of tough competition.

He said: “It’s been a great weekend for me. Despite having less experience than the drivers in front of us, I think we can be proud of our performance. We’ve done a good job both in terms of the car and my driving in view of the coming rallies. Competing in events as difficult as this one helps me to improve. I can’t wait to race in the Tour of Corsica.”

Arzeno is contesting at least four rounds of this year’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
